Large and important 19th C. Stone Bulul. Carved of a very hard stone, and resembling a Rodin sculpture, this heavy and rare artifact is 18" tall by 8-1/2" deep and weighs about 70 pounds. Image is of a deceased ancestral spirit in the form of a contemplative Shaman-Priest. Between his arms is a hollow down in which spirit-offerings were placed. There is a fissure that goes through much of the stone about halfway down (but it is not serious), and his patina is completely natural and uncleaned. Monumental sculpted stone imagery - a one-of-a-kind opportunity.
