Lot of 2: 1) Slug inscribed KOHLBERG & CAVAGNARO WHOLESALE LIQUORS STOCKTON, CAL. on this one pint, clear picnic, with a double roll un-ground top. Footed base with air venting on the back. Several imperfections and bubbles near spout. Benjamine Kohlberg was in the business of selling tobacco in Stockton in 1876. Cavagnaro was in the bar business. Sometime between 1889 and 1893, the two formed a partnership that only appears to have lasted for two years [Ref: Picnics, Coffins, Shoo-Flies, Thomas, 1974]. 2) A five ounce, paper labeled, clear glass sample with double collared, neatly applied, un-ground top. This is from The Mint in Modesto, George K. Pike & Co. Contained was Morville Blended Whiskey. In 1911, the business was located at 921 I St. and run by G. Pike and Jacob M.
