This is an original limited edition quality lithograph hand color embellished by Robert Kipniss titled, “Still Life With Pitcher” circa 1974. Hand signed in graphite and numbered 46/50. Kipniss is an accomplished artist and printmaker with many awards and achievements to his name. His works have had a far-reaching impact in international exhibitions in London, Munich, Paris, Boston, Vienna, New York City, and Los Angeles. When asked about his paintings, Kipniss responded "...in the early 1960s my paintings took on the characteristics of my former writing, and became infused with anger, a dark monochromatic palette, and occasionally slightly surreal themes: the added gravitas became immediately apparent. It was only a few years after this that my inner lyricism began to re-surface and meld with the darkness; this was the beginning of my mature style. Unexpectedly, my career took off.". This painting embodies the style that Kipniss is best known for. His use of color and gradients provides for a spectacularly stunning piece of art. In addition, Kipniss paintings and prints are not readily available for sale and they are rarely offered at auction. Kipniss works have sold for over $12,000. Frame Measures 23 7/8"x19 7/8". Artwork is 14.25"x10.25". This edition has been sold out and the Litho Plates have been canceled.
