Stevens model 44single-shot falling block rifle with factory engraved frame, 30” half-round half-octagon barrel of medium to heavy weight, select checkered wood target stock, no cheek piece, schutzen style butt,veneer tang sight, fitted with later palm rest, half-round half-octagon barrel, .32-40 caliber, serial #14814 on barrel and action. The barrel shows four tap holes and screws for scope blocks which are missing. The rearsight has been removed and shows dovetail. The muzzle shows its correct adjustable windage target type front sight. The barrel shows 75-85% toning blue finish, the frame shows a light grey to brown patina with30-40% case hardening. The stocks are very good plus with sharp checkering. A rifle that would improve considerably with scope blocks or the addition of a rear sight. From the John Goodlad collection. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
