Stevens model 44-1/2 single shot falling-block target rifle, .28-30 caliber, double-set triggers, replaced Schutzen style stocks in correct style. Serial #940 on tang, #5880 on bottom of barrel in front offorend. The barrel measures 29-3/4”, is of medium weight. The rifle shows an old refinish of which 90% remains and is evenly aging and toning. The quality of the restocking is very good and in keeping withantique styling. The rifle retains a correct to the period schutzen butt. Veneer tang sight, hooded target type front sight and shows two scope blocks mounted by tap holes and tap screws in the barrel.
