Manufactured from 1906 to 1916. Stevens-Pope marked custom barrel (no other marking) with the front sight removed (dovetail not filled), drilled and tapped with a sight mount near the breech and fitted with a Unertl 1 1/4 inch 10x telescopic sight with Unertl mounts. The tang is factory drilled and tapped for a tang sight. Nicely figured checkered replacement forearm and pistol grip stock with Swiss-type buttplate. Complete with a handwritten Roe Clark letter stating there are no specific serial number records for the older Stevens guns and a photocopy from catalog #54 describing the configuration of the Ideal Model Stevens Single Shot Rifle.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 60% of the ordinal blue finish with the forward half thinned to a smooth gray patina. The action retains 20% of the original case colors with the balance a smooth brown patina. The lever shows strong original case colors in protected wear with a smooth brown and silver gray on the balance. The buttplate has a smooth brown patina. The wood is excellent with some minor dings and scratches, and some scattered minor bruises in the overall crisp checkering. The scope is good with clear optics.
