Stevens Ideal Number 45 Single Shot Falling Block Rifle
Manufactured from 1896 to 1916. The top barrel flat at the breech is marked with the two line Stevens address, "25.21" on the left rear upper flat and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. Globe front sight, the rear sight has been removed and a brass filler has been installed in the dovetail and mid-range wind gauge tang mounted peep sight. Blue barrel and casehardened remaining parts, double set triggers and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a Swiss type buttplate. Barrel serial number is 4639.

Condition: Very good. The barrel retains 40% original blue finish mixed with smooth brown patina. The receiver shows some faded original case colors mixed with a smooth gray patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is excellent with a few very minor handling marks overall. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
