American made single-shot falling block youth rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle manufactured between 1893-1939 in Chicopee Falls, MA. The Stevens favorite is based on the Martini falling block action and features a 22" round/octagonal barrel, dovetailed inverted 'V' front sight, dovetailed notched rear sight, smooth curved trigger, sling swivel/take-down screw forward of trigger guard, and checkered hammer spur. The bore has good rifling, but isn't real bright. The wood funiture is oil finished and composed of a smooth straight wrist buttstock with a checkered hard rubber buttplate, and a smooth wood forend. The original finish appears to be a blued finish on the barrel and trigger with the receiver, falling block, lever, and hammer case-color hardened. The bluing on the barrel shows patina having turned almost completely brown with light handling wear, and some pitting at the muzzle. The case-color finish on the remaining parts is approximately 30% with some edge wear, and light scattered pitting (also turning brown). The action is smooth with the lever not locking-up tight when closed. Wood furniture is good and sound with normal handling marks, dings, and the buttstock wiggles a little.
Condition is NRA Good.
