Casper spends most of his time trying to keep Spooky from getting into mischief scaring people and animals. This story is doubly fun because it is actually Spooky who gets the most "spooked" when Casper leaves him alone in a scary forest. A fascinating aspect to this original art is the fact that the name "Spooky" is a paste-over in every word balloon -- hold it up to the light to see what is written underneath the patch, and it's revealed that the character was originally named "Clancy," a moniker that fits his New York-style persona; someone at Harvey editorial obviously felt that "Spooky" better suited the character (or was perhaps less ethnic). Steve Muffati's work on these early books was extremely charming, and in keeping with the "look" established by the Paramount cartoons that preceded the comics. Spooky's time in "Lonesome Forest" is just plain fun. These pages are in excellent shape with almost no white out. The first page is missing a word stat and the last page has a small stain between the bottom two panels. The pages are approximately 14.5" x 22.5" in size. <B>Estimate: $3,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
