Steve Garvey was born on December 22, 1948 in Tampa, Florida. He won the World Series in 1981 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He set the record for consecutive games played, 1,207 from 9/3/75 to 7/29/83 (now 4th longest). In 1985, he became the only first baseman to play 150 games with no errors. He played in the All-Star game 10 times. He was the NLCS MVP twice. He won the Golden Glove 4 times. He received the Roberto Clemente Award in 1981.
