Really beautiful salts, with little shell salt spoons.

A pretty pair of sterling silver open salts. In the shape of a shell, they have little matching spoons. Each salt sits on three small ball feet. The insides were once gilt washed, but this is now mostly worn away. One salt is hallmarked for Birmingham (England) 1900, in the last year of Queen Victoria?s reign. The other is hallmarked Birmingham 1899. Maker?s mark: ?C & N? for both. The spoons, also by C & N, are stamped ?Sterling?. Salts measure 5cm diameter (just over 2 inches). The older salt has had a little foot repaired (a good professional reattachment). One spoon has had the handle reattached. No dents or dings, a very pretty pair for any table.
