<td width="100%">
A vintage sterling silver compact, hallmarked for Birmingham (England) 1944. It has engine turned pattern front and back in a diamond-shaped grid. On the front is a plain panel with the initials ?E.L.F.? engraved in script. Inside is plain with mirrored lid - the mirror is cracked in half, but would be easily replaced. It is not glued, but held in place by a pressure ring. Compact measures 7cm (2.3/4 inches) diameter. It is in basically good condition externally, but has a few shallow dents and a scratch to the rear. Clasp needs rejigging, its too loose at present. A very attractive display piece though.
