Featured for your enjoyment is another wonderful item from Minnesota?s Attic. This is a
wonderful old sterling presentation plate! It was give to George H. Archibald for a project he
worked on between 1962-1966. It was the Indus Basin Project, the Mangla Dam. It was presented
to him by Bowmaker (Plant) Limited. It has an engraved made of the area in question. Rivers
and countries are named. It is a pound of solid silver and in excellent condition. I am looking for
someone who wants to preserve this part of history, not melt it down. It is marked with 4 marks,
Top is a D.L. in a square. Right is an exaggerated S. in a square. Bottom is a lion facing left and
last the left is an anchor in a square. The lion suggests British but I have been unable to find the
maker. It is the right time period when Britain still was involved in India and the area.
Wonderful old piece of history never to be made again.
