Exquisite hand-painted Victorian Biscuit barrel by Royal Doulton.
Made by Thomas Goodfellow with hand-painted floral motif in
the procelain. The lid, rim and handle are silver that is
hallmarked London, 1894. Some of the original gilt wash
remains. Excellent quality - rare to know who the actual artist
was. Very few silver mounted ones were made- 95% have silver
plate fittings. Originally used to hold biscuits to be served with
tea, Biscuit Barrels can not be found with everything from
candy to match books in them!
