TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, January 12, 1984. Typed letter to a fan named "Jennifer," in full: "Thanks for your letter concerning THE DARK TOWER. Since PET SEMATARY was published, I have been deluged with questions, comments, and also quite a few brickbats about this little book. Because of all the requests for, and questions about THE DARK TOWER, I have given Don Grant the go ahead to print another 10,000 copies. If you still want a copy, what I suggest you do is this: Write Donald M. Grant, Publisher, West Kingston, RI 02892, a letter requesting that he reserve a copy of this second edition for you, and include a photocopy of this letter with your request. I am going to ask Don to service the people who have specifically requested THE DARK TOWER from me, Doubleday or Viking Press before anyone else. I hope this will be of some help. The original cover price of Grant's Trade Edition was $20. That seemed a fair price at the time for a book bound in cloth, printed on good rag quality paper, and profusely illustrated. One last thing. THE DARK TOWER was done as a limited edition because it was a story with limited appeal. It is a fantasy novel set in a fantasy world, and it is really only the long opening section of a much longer work that is still in progress. I am only telling you this because the story may not be exactly what you have come to expect from me." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
