Stephen Grant & Sons Best Quality London full side lock, double barrel SxS shotgun with side release lever in 12 gauge, serial number 6957 (2) indicating one of a pair originally. The gun is cased in and leathercovered oak case. The label reads, “Atkin, Grant and Lang Limited” on first line, along with “The Names of Henry Atkin, F. Beesley, Stephen Grant & Sons, Harrison and Hussey, Charles Hellis & Sons, Charles Lancaster &Co., Joseph Lange & Sons, Watson Brothers” who all associated and worked together at 7 Bury Street St. James London when the depression hit. The gun shows 28” barrels with double triggers and auto-ejectors. Thebottom of the barrels on water table are nitro proved for 2 ½” shells and show 3 ton proof on each barrel along with right barrel being choked .05 for improved cylinder and left barrel being choked .20 for modified.The barrels show 90% to 95% original blue with good sharp markings and edges with wall thickness measuring .35 right and .38 left.
