<B>Stephen A. Douglas: Massive Ambrotype Portrait in Spectacular Condition.</B></I> In the baseball card hobby, this would be termed a "blazer". Both the ambrotype and its thermoplastic case are in virtually mint condition. For strictest accuracy, we note a minor discoloration at the very bottom visible part of Douglas's coat which detracts little, if at all, from its eye-catching appeal. Douglas's image is from a well-known 1860 campaign engraving. One must really see this piece "in person" to fully appreciate the powerful statement it makes.
