<B>Stephen A. Douglas Autograph Document Signed,</B></I> 7.75” x 12.25”, two pages (front and verso), September Term, 1836, Green County, Illinois. The document is a grand jury double indictment of Sidney S. Rochester for unlawfully playing card games, for money, known as “poker” and “seven up” with “<I>cards contrary to Statute</B></I>”. Douglas signed as “States Attorney”. Douglas was only 23 years old at the time. Repaired with archival tape at the folds, some chipping to the bottom, else near fine. <I>From the collection of Henry E.
