Stefanie Schneider plays with the effects of faded Polaroid photographs; her works fetch up to 1,800 Euros at international auctions

For quite some time, Stefanie Schneider is regarded as a rising star of the international photography scene. Her distinctive technique is based on the use of expired Polaroid films that render her pictures a mysterious, slightly faded touch like known from old film-stills. The present work depicts a man lost in a landscape in California. It has been executed as a lambda print and reflects the Polaroid style of the artist.



The photograph is verso fitted with a LUMAS Edition label, reading some indications on the work and the identification number 11448. The plexiglass front shows a few superficial scratch marks. The overall dimensions of the work are 10.7 x 8.8 cm and the image size is 8 x 8 cm.



Stefanie Schneider (b. 1968)

Born in Cuxhaven, the photographer Stefanie Schneider studied communication design at the ‘Folkwangschule’ in Essen, Germany. Her photographs are exhibited all over the world and presented by a number of well-known galleries. The artist lives and works in Berlin and Los Angeles. (cbo)
