Bond of the State of Louisiana for $1000 issued at New Orleans on April 24, 1871, 16.75 x 25.75, with 75 coupons intact below. The certificate boasts attractive vignettes of allegorical women and the state seal of Louisiana, and is signed in ink by Governor Henry C. Warmoth, "H. C. Warmoth," and Secretary of State George E. Bovee, "Geo. E. Bovee." In fine condition. Warmoth (1842-1931) became governor of Louisiana at the age of 26, leading the state during the Reconstruction era from 1868 to 1872.
