Vanderbilt for William Seward Webb” Punch and stamp cancellations. WILLIAM SEWARD WEBB Although educated as a physician, William Seward Webb built two hundred miles of railroad and opened up the wilderness where others had failed. In 1881 Dr. Webb married Lila Osgood Vanderbilt, youngest daughter of William H. Vanderbilt, by whom he had four children.
