Starr percussion carbine, .52 caliber, grey patina finish, serial #14405. Breech shows original marking “ARK” for Arkansas and “1H”. The metal surfaces show traces of original finish mixed in with their patina, somescattered light erosion and pinprick pitting. The stocks are weathered and show wear, small losses, chips, and even aging, but generally fair to good overall. The markings are good, action good, bore slightly rough.Original small parts, screws, and saddle ring all complete. The buttplate is soldier-inscribed “R8K”. Refer lot 1270 in this sale for Arkansas-marked Hall Carbine which was displayed by our consignor as the“North and South” showing one carbine from each side of the split state. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
