Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - Yoda's Gimer Stick
Yoda's distinctive gimer stick, as seen in Irvin Kershner's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and also used in Richard Marquand's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, was often seen in Jedi Master Yoda's interactions with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) before his demise on Dagobah. The gimer stick forms part of Yoda’s character and is itself iconic. The gimer stick belies Yoda’s advanced age and wisdom but also crates the false impression that he is feeble.

This curved-handled resin stick, bestowed upon Yoda as a gift from a tribe of Wookies, is painted in a greenish-brown hue. It includes decorative features such as a notch at the collar and a bottom hole designed for a puppeteering rod. The stick bears signs of wear, with scuffing evident around the handle, and has undergone a sympathetic restoration to address a fracture in the staff that occurred during production. The dimensions of the gimer stick are 4" x 4" x 20"(10.25 cm x 10.25 cm x 51 cm). This lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Studio Auctions.
