Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Sarlacc Tentacle
Screen used tentacle of the Sarlacc from “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi” (1983). The Sarlacc is an alien creature that is buried under the sand in the Great Pit of Carkoon on the planet Tatooine. He has large tentacles that grabs its victims and pulls then into its multi-teethed circular mouth. This Sarlacc Tentacle is rare, since it is one of the actual tentacles used in the production. In the 1997 Special Edition of the film, these were replaced by computer-generated tentacles. It was used in the scene where Luke rescues Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt with the help of Princess Leia, Lando, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 at Jabba's palace on Totooine. Luke lets himself be captured to get close to Han, and Jabba sentences him to death by Sarlacc. What ensues is one of the best Star Wars battles. Luke breaks free, thanks to the help of R2-D2, Leia strangles Jabba with her own prisoner chains, and Han knocks Boba Fett into the Sarlacc (along with various other bad guys) and they destroy Jabba's sail barge before escaping. The tentacle is made of foam rubber with a special "Sarlacc" painted skin. It has woven robe cable inside to allow it to realistic "weave" from out of the mouth. Comes with a Letter of Provenience. Tentacle is curved, but stretches to approx 85". It requires special shipping. This item also comes with a Movie Props DNA: This item now includes three levels of security: 1) DNA laced invisible ink – a 9-digit code laced with DNA ink is placed on an appropriate place of the prop/costume and can be only viewed using a high-frequency UV light. The chances of replicating the specific DNA sequence which is unique to MPDNA is 1 in 33 trillion. 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
