<B>Star Spangled Comics #1 (DC, 1941) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages.</B></I> The usual format of grown male hero with a boy sidekick was turned on its head in this series' main feature -- the Star Spangled Kid called the shots here, with the help of the older Stripesy. Debuting in this issue was the Tarantula, some twenty-odd years before another company would develop their own spider-like hero. Hal Sherman drew the robot-smashing cover. Overstreet 2006 VF 8.0 value = $3,521.
