Stanley Kubrick autograph note initialed, dated ''April 1'' with no year. Note is written beneath a handwritten note by ''New Yorker'' journalist Jeremy Bernstein, who profiled the director for the magazine and the two remained friends. When asked by Bernstein, ''...What is a fair 'close out' figure -- more or less -- in your experience?'' Kubrick responds, ''Dear J. I have no opinion. There is too much I don't know. You must ask your agent, lawyer or Rabbi.'' Initialed, ''Best, S.'' One page letter measures 8.25'' x 11.75''. Creasing and folds, very good condition.
