This lot has a No. 45 Stanley sweetheart plane with original Cutter Box No. 2 and blades. This is Stanley's most famous and popular combination plane. A combination plane is one that can be fitted with different irons, or cutters, as Stanley called them, and be adjusted for a particular cut. The basic #45 can groove, rabbet, dado, match (tongue and groove), bead (edge and center), slit, and cut sash. With the special bottoms and cutters, which were purchased separately from the basic model, the plane can do simple moldings, nosing, reeding, and fluting. The planer features wood and nickel construction with many ways of adjusting to suit the job. The planer looks to be in complete condition. The lot has a complete cutter box no. 2 with blades. This planer dates from the early 20th century. The plane shows good condition, with signs of use. It measures 11" L x 6 1/2" H x 9" W. The cutter box no. 2 blades show good condition, with signs of use. The box measures 8 1/8" L x 4 1/2" W x 1/2" Thick
