TLS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, Oceana Apartment Hotel letterhead, March 20, 1963. Letter to Steve Ward, in part: “Thanks for information on the L&H Fan Club in N.Y.—sounds kind of screwy to me—it will be interesting to see one of these Club Papers—maybe it will be just one issue a year!! Re ‘Berth Marks,’ it was the story of L&H traveling overnight on a train & sharing an upper berth, they spend the night trying to get their clothes off inside the berth, just as they get settled in bed they have arrived at their destination & have to get off the train in their underwear & their train continues on its journey. The ‘Fixer–Uppers’ L&H are door to door Xmas Card salesmen, they get involved with a woman who wants to make her husband jealous by pretending Hardy is her lover—the husband of course is infuriated & being a Frenchman challenges Hardy to a duel with pistols. The film you mention, Street Musicians in the snow is titled ‘Below Zero.’ Sorry you missed the Dick Van Dyke show–very good indeed.” In fine condition, with trivial creasing and two spots of foxing. Accompanied by an unsigned postcard photo of the comedy duo.
