<B>Stan Laurel's Helmet from "Air Raid Wardens."</B></I> They were the most beloved comedy team of all time. Each man was a brilliant actor/comedian, but Stan Laurel (1890-1965) was the dominant member offscreen. "Ask Stan" was the usual response of Oliver Hardy whenever a question arose about their career. This is Laurel's helmet from <I>Air Raid Wardens</B></I> (1943), a WW II propaganda comedy that the team made for 20th Century-Fox. The white metal helmet is the real thing, with gray netting inside the bowl crown and the round red, white, and blue insignia on the front. The hat has a minor dent at the top, some staining and scratches, as well as two chips marks on the insignia, and overall wear typical of this relic from over 60 years ago; overall Fine condition.
