This lot features an exceptional early antique stagecoach drivers bear fur coat. The coat features a gorgeous exterior of black bear fur with a contrasting collar of Great American Bison Buffalo fur. In order to battle off the cold stagecoach drivers wore heavy fur coats like this one to stay warm though the 19th century. The coat is in good condition for its age though with some small rips. This is truly a rare early Western American piece of history. From an Eastern, Montana historic estate. Conceivably could have been used on the Wells Fargo Stagecoaches in the early Montana Territory Vigilante Days. Measures: 50" L x 23" W
