Offered is a very nice hand painted Staffordshire butter dish made by Alfred Meakin. On the body of this butter dish, is a beautiful hand painted scene of a sailor bidding farewell to his lady and in background is an ocean scene with sailing ships. Around the edging of the dome piece and underplate is an attractive floral and printed border. This piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and the only flaw that I can see is a slight rough edge under the dome plate which does not detract at all from its overall appearance. Please zoom the photos, and consider adding this classic piece to your collection of fine china or for use on your dining room table!
