Springfield percussion military rifle with socket bayonet, .69 cal., 42” round barrel, lock plate dated “1848”, brown finish, wood full stock, iron ramrod, front sight integral with front barrel band, sling swivels. This gun is in overall goodcondition showing out-of-the-attic appearance with dark brown patina on metal surfaces, good action, dark bore, good markings on lock plate including spread eagle over US; wood stock is overall good with scattered nicks and mars from carry andstorage, remnants of the inspector’s cartouche on the left side of the stock above the trigger; bayonet is in like condition to the gun and marked “D 025” on the right side of the socket.
