Springfield model 1898 Krag Carbine, .30-40 caliber, in fine to excellent original condition, serial #431672. The carbine shows most of its original blue and quenched arsenal finishes with excellent stock,cartouched 1903. The barrel and band show 90% drifting blue. The triggerguard shows 90-95% blue. There is a sharp “P” proof just behind the triggerguard with small “O” and “44” stamp between the P and the triggerguard. The stock shows a blued plate in the belly of the buttstock that is stamped “Cal W 113” and shows arsenal type blue. The buttplate shows most of its arsenal blue type finish. The edges are sharp and crisp, the springs showbright original blue, action is crisp, bolt and follower show original bright with traces of cosmoline on interior. The bore is bright.
