Springfield model 1861 .58 caliber rifled musket with desirable 1861 lock date, refer Flayderman 9A-313. The rifle shows a grey patina finish with scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. Someslightly heavier pitting at the face of the hammer, bolster, and rear 3” of breech from firing and use. The edges are good, the markings are fairly crisp, the stock is good and shows some light cleaning with steel wool but no sanding. No evidence of cartouche. The wood to metal fit is good, the correct bands, rear sight, small parts are all retained. The action is good, The bore is somewhat dark and shows considerable use andmay clean- fair only. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
