Springfield Model 1903 03-A3 US Military WW2 Rifle 30-06 Springfield

There is a RESERVE set on this great collectible of $1500

The Springfield M1903A3 is a bolt-action .30-06 rifle mass-produced by Remington and Smith-Corona
during WWII (1942–1944).
Designed for faster wartime production, it features stamped metal parts and a rear receiver mounted
aperture peep sight, which many shooters prefer over the earlier barrel mounted sights.

The M1903 Springfield served as the U.S. militarys primary rifle during WWI, but as WWII began,
the intricate machining required to manufacture it proved to slow.
To meet massive wartime demands, Remington was contracted to produce a simplified version,
eventually transitioning to the M1903A3 in late 1942. Smith-Corona later joined as a secondary
manufacturer.
To reduce production time and costs, parts like the trigger guard, floorplate, and barrel bands were
made from stamped steel rather than machined forgings.
Two-Groove Barrels: Comes with two-groove rifling, which was faster to produce and proved to be
just as accurate.

This unit comes with the Rear Aperture Sight mounted on the rear of the receiver, vastly improving
target acquisition. Front blade sight is hooded.
Original and fine condition with original stock and fine bore. Rarely is one found in this excellent
original condition.
Wood has a few minor bumps but other than that it retains excellent condition throughout. See Pictures

This unit is Serial number 3743160 - So made in 1942 (Serial numbers range 3708000-4707999 - M1903A3)

Rifle is complete with a nice Military Lawrence JEW leather sling with brass fittings.

A fine collectible condition Springfield.
