Springfield Model 1884 trapdoor carbine in .45-70 caliber, serial number 380936. This carbine remains in original good condition showing 40% to 60% original blue on barrel that is evenly drifting and toning with someminor scattered erosion and pinprick pitting on the edges. The lock plate, frame and hammer have drifted to a grayish patina with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting also. The markings on the lock are good. Thestock is also good but shows no trace of cartouches. There has been some oiling to the stock with what appears to have been linseed oil which has darkened it slightly. The stock is good with a few mars, dings and etc. This carbine retains correct late sight, carbine bands, butt plate and all carbine features. Action is good and the bore is at least good and still shining. Est.: $800-$1,600.
