US military semiautomatic rifle manufactured February 1943. SA barrel dated 2-43, D28290-14-SA, on the side of the trigger group. hammer marked C46008-7 SA, Safety marked SA, op rod marked 6535382 SA, receiver marked 3 11 C SS and D 28291 17 and the bolt is marked D28287-12SA S04. Arsenal reworked. Features parkerized finish, blue barrel, wood stock & hand guards, 24" barrel, adjustable sights with protected front blade & protected rear peep, fixed magazine for en-bloc clip, manual safety Handguard and froe stock a darker than the shoulder stock , "P" proof behind triggerguard, ordnance crossed cannons cartouche on left stock with "S.A. E.Mc.F in square next to it. (Colonel Earl McFarland worked as an arms inspector from June, 1942 to July, 1943) Correct for this rifle. .Bore is very good condition, lightly frosted, strong rifling. Metal parts retain 95% medium gray/blue finish. Shows edge losses & handling marks. Wood is very good/sound, the usual minor scratches/dings. A correct mid WW2 rifle
