Springfield Armory Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Manufactured in March of 1915. This pistol has the distinctive lusterless blue-black finish found on the Springfield Model 1911 pistols. The left side of the slide is marked with the three line 1897-1911 Colt patent dates followed by "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY/U.S.A." and the flaming ordnance bomb behind the serrations. The right side of the slide is marked with the Springfield Armory eagle and "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY.". The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame and the left side is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and with a flaming ordnance bomb. The barrel is stamped with the Springfield heat lot "REP1" on the lower left side of the chamber and "S" and "P" on the left side of the lug. The markings indicate that the barrel is a Springfield Armory WWII replacement. Standard fixed sights, front sight integral to the slide, smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety and hammer spur, two tone magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with a diamond pattern around the screws.

Professionally restored. The pistol retains at least 95% of the dull rust blue finish. There are traces of pitting visible on the top and right side of the slide. The slide and frame markings are extremely sharp. The grips are fine with light-moderate handling wear, a few minor dents and crisp checkering. The magazine has a dark patina. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically fine.
