This example was manufactured in late 1930 and the barrel is marked "S A/flaming bomb/1- 31". The muzzle is stamped with the star marking and the star gauge number "J/2959" is marked under the hand guard. The bright polished bolt is marked "N.S." on the top flat of the knob and is electro penciled on the top with the matching number. The rear sight does not have the 2,850 yard volley notch and there is a fully adjustable Lyman peep sight mounted on the right rear of the receiver. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with a boxed "DAL" cartouche on the left wrist, two reinforcing bolts, a circled "P" proof on the front of the wrist, the serial number is stamped in front of the rear sling swivel and there is a coarse checkered steel buttplate. With front and rear sight covers.

Very fine, 95% plus original parkerized finish with some high edge wear, a few minor dings and a few minor scratches. The reoiled stock is also very fine with some scattered minor scratches, dings and has been inletted for the Lyman sight. Mechanically excellent.
