Springfield '73 Trapdoor used in "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" and Movie Memorabilia. a) S/N 414200. U.S. “trapdoor” rifle, converted to carbine for Stembridge Movie Rental Shop, mounted on a 18" x 48" hanging display board, and presented to Harry Carey Jr. .45 caliber, 22" barrel, rifle stock shortened to correct carbine length, rod channel filled, Stembridge “S” on top of frame. With a plaque reading:. "Springfield 1873 Model Trapdoor Carbine. Serial #414200 Standard Arm of the U.S. Cavalry during the Indian Wars, was subsequently used in the making of John Ford's epic 1949 film "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon". Presented by Hollywood Guns and Props at the Festival of the West - 2004.". CONDITION: In keeping with movie firearms, wear and conversion apparent on close inspection but is functional for movie purposes and would not be noticed.
