Spanish-American War era US military bolt action infantry rifle manufactured circa 1899. Features a blued & case hardened finish, 30" barrel, pinned blade front sight, M1901 rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, two barrel bands with bayonet lug & stacking swivel on the front band, side-mounted 5 round hinged magazine with cut-off on the left side of the receiver, polished bolt with two-position safety on the rear, smooth trigger, sling swivels, smooth walnut handguard and straight grip shoulder stock with finger grooves in the forend, trapdoor metal buttplate. No cartouches observed on the stock. Bore is dark with strong rifling. Blue is about 50%, somewhat dull with age, handling wear. Wood is very good, may be a replacement as it does not match the condition of the rifle. Black leather sling with one claw appears to be a m1907 two sling that has been altered.
NRA Condition-Good. C&R Firearm
