US military single shot infantry rifle. Features 32" barrel, blade front sight, 1884 rear sight with elevator ladder, missing the cleaning rod, sling swivels, stacking swivel, external hammer, straight gripped walnut stock, curved steel buttplate. Standard markings are clear, no cartouche or proof visible on the stock. Bore is good, rifling present, light frosting. Metal surfaces show a dull blue color, with scattered brown patina. Wood is sound, with many scratches and scuffs. Breech block is dated 1884. Barrel marked over chamber "V / P / (eagle head)", lock marked "U.S. Springfield" with American Eagle.
Condition is NRA Near Very Good. Antique Firearm.
