Rifle, Breech-loading. U.S. military issue. In service from 1873-1892. Manufactured 1887. Blued finish, one-piece wood stock. Known as the "Trapdoor" (Hinged breechblock) 32 1.2" barrel. Bore is good, but dirty. 3-click hammer, and trapdoor are tight. Has all correct markings on the Barrel, side plate. etc. U.S. marked butt plate. has the correct early sights, wide triggerguard, serrated trigger. Faint cartouche is present on the left side of the stock, above the trigger. Remnants of an old leather sling is attached. Finish is not bad, with a patina covering the metal. Wood has the usual dents/scratches, but not bad. Someone has carved "877" on the right stock, about 1 inch high. NRA Condition-Good, plus. Antique Firearm.
