This is a set of 19 pieces of Spiegelau crystal from the late 1940s. The previous owner received them as a wedding present in 1947 or 1948. Some of them has the original foil labels that read "Komet Ges. Gesch. Spiebelau Kristall." The label looks like a B in Spiebelau, but I am confident it is really meant to be Spiegelau. I have not been able to find any reference to the Komet pattern. This is clear crystal, very thin and fragile. You could break one merely by squeezing the bowl too hard in your hand. There is an etched or cut pattern of wavy lines spiralling from the base. There are three different shapes in this set.
The tallest shape is 4 1/4" tall and looks like a small wine or cordial glass. There are five in this size. Each is perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
The next size is 3 1/2" tall and looks like a mini brandy snifter, but may be a cordial (I don't drink, so I am not up on all the shape names). There are six in this size, each in perfect condition with no chips or cracks.
The smallest size is 2 3/4" tall and looks like a mini martini glass with a nice flare at the top. There are eight of this shape. One of the eight has a small chip in the base, the other seven are perfect.
Shipping and insurance in the U.S. is $13.30 for this item.
