This Art Deco powder jar is known as Sphinx or King Tut, and has a finial comprised of the head of a Sphinx, while the jar is a cone shaped hexagon with a three footed base. This figural powder jar is shown on page 45 of Whitmyer - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. Beautifully executed with fine definition to the Sphinx's features and an incredible geometric shape. The jar with lid measures 5" x 5 1/4", and both are in excellent condition
