Spencer sporting rifle, .46 caliber rimfire, 26” medium weight round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, pewter forend cap, long range tang rear sight, folding Spencer type rear sight, in very good plusoriginal condition, formerly in the collection of legendary firearms manufacturer and collector Bill Ruger. The rifle shows approx. 60-80% evenly thinning and toning blue finish, with some areas of pitting anderosion on the barrel. The frame show 30-60% case hardening drifting to a silvery grey with some areas of rainbow colors showing where protected. There is some light pitting and erosion just starting. The rifle isserial numbered 1827 beneath the sight and shows Spencer Repeating Company Boston Mass address. The interior of the action shows flaming case hardening. The action is tight, the bore is bright and near excellent. Thestocks show a commercial varnish with select grain and are in very good condition with just some minor scratches and mars and are at least very good plus.
