Spencer Model 1863 Repeating rifle, .56 Spencer caliber, Serial #16480. The rifle is in overall good condition with a 30” barrel. The barrel retains small amounts of its blued finish in the protected areas, with the remainder having gone to patina. The action and lever have gone entirely to a silver/grey patina with fairly legible markings on the top of the action. The rifles front sight is a crude period replacement done in copper. The smooth wood stocks are in overallgood condition with typical mars and dents from service. The saddle ring is retained as well as a nice cartouche on the left side of the stock. The butt ends in a metal crescent butt plate with trap. The rifle is missing the ramrod. The boreis good and action functions on this nice old Civil War era repeater. (Antique). Est.: $400-$800.
