Spencer Civil War Model repeating carbine, .52 cal., 22” barrel, brown and case hardened finish, Indian style brass tacked stocks, #35344. This gun is in overall good condition showing an even brown patina over all metal surfaces and just some hints of case color on the frame; bore is good, action is good, barrel address is visible, wood stocks are worn and show numerous nicks, mars and scratches and an extensive group of brass tacks patterned in three rows on the fore stock, five rows on the right side of the butt stock plus one row on the underside and on the top side of that stock with one row on the left side of the stock at the top linking into a long line of tacks outlining the iron butt plate; saddle ring and bar retained. The numerous brass tacks appear to have been on this carbine for some time however, as knowledgeable collectors realize, definite determination of the origin of any tacked gun is not easily ascertained. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
