Spencer .56 rimfire caliber repeating carbine with Civil War issue original 22” barrel. Traces of blue and case-hardened finish. Serial #40152. Barrel shows strong traces of blue mixed with a brown patina, good edges,with light to moderate pitting and erosion. The frame show light traces of case hardening going to silvery grey with legible address on breech. The stocks are good with dings, mars, scratches, and minor imperfections, and no cartouche visible. The action is good. There is some faint case hardening on interior. The action is good, the bore is very good. Far above average for a Civil War Spencer with original length barrel.Soldier’s initials “JM” carved into stock on right side. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
