Manufactured in 1902. Fixed blade front sight, one line Hartford address on top of barrel and "(BISLEY MODEL)/COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" roll engraved on left. The frame has the two line, three date patent marking followed by the circled Rampant Colt on the left side, and "982" assembly number marked on the loading gate. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Wide, low hammer spur with smooth wide trigger, characteristic "humpback" grip and fitted checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The back strap is inscribed "THE STRANGLERS". This inscription is believed to be in reference to a group of violent vigilantes who it was believed were lead by Granville Stuart in the late 1870s and early 1880s along the Missouri River in Montana. There form of punishment was hanging. Included with the revolver are pages from "With Coats Of Arms On Rawhide" about the gang.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus bright original high polish blue finish with some barely noticeable high point wear. The back strap inscription was left in the white. The frame and hammer retain 97% bright and vivid original case colors. The grips are also excellent with very crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent. Some research may prove interesting.
